About My Work
Creativity plays a very important role in my life. It is not only a form of relaxation, but also a kind of introspection, an inner monologue, or an expression of metaphysical experience. Colors and forms can convey more than ordinary verbal language. The arrangement of colored areas and their interplay evoke various thoughts and questions in the viewer. Everyone who looks at my works finds their own answers, which do not necessarily coincide with the artist’s vision. Most of my paintings explore the existential loneliness, alienation, information overload, and social masks that modern people use to hide behind in everyday situations.
Reviews
"The works of artist Aurimas Liekis reveal a unique inner world—somewhere between dream, symbol, and emotion. The bold use of color creates an atmospheric mood and a subtle emotional tension, while the distorted figures leave plenty of room for the viewer’s interpretation. There is something deeply human and yet metaphysical about them—as if the characters existed between states of being, memories, and silence."

"Colorful, vivid brushstrokes intertwine with phantasmagorical faces that keep appearing, among which one can discern the artist’s portrait, which seems to blend with the other faces in a space of color. This is the painting of Aurimas Liekis; in it, I see human existence, the pulsation of inner states, and reflections of the soul that, like a dream, dissolve into combinations of cool and warm colors. Color and form dominate Aurimas’s paintings; in this formless space, there is an emotional connection and communication—what each of us feels in our daily lives."

"Aurimas Liekis's painting style is expressive and symbolic. His figures are simplified, distorted, and expressive. Bright, contrasting swaths of color predominate, creating an emotional and mysterious atmosphere. For Aurimas Liekis, a person’s inner state and mood are more important than a realistic depiction."
